Strengthening the field
Building on collaboration-building work we have done since 1989 in the donor leadership field, we helped, in 2006, to organize meetings of Catalyzing Wealth and the Transforming Money Collaborative.
This work brought together more than 40 organizations working on donor education and alternative economics, to increase communication and collaboration among us. We have worked with a number of donor education and donor organizing groups, giving workshops or supporting the leadership. These include the Southeastern Council on Foundations, the Young Donor Organizers Alliance, Harvest Time, PlayBig, Youth for Environmental Sanity, Threshold, New Ventures in Philanthropy, and the Community Foundation of Santa Cruz County.
Our consulting goals for the coming year include:
- Support the creation of a wealth coaching collaborative connected to Inspired Legacies, a new nonprofit initiated by Tracy Gary
- Continue to strengthen the Catalyzing Wealth network
- Explore developing an on-line donor education curriculum that would be promoted through "The Ultimate Gift" book and movie
- Respond to opportunities as they arise
