Arts Rising Funding Circle
Tele-conference Manager (5-8 hours/week)
You would be in charge of co-creating and managing this new educational program. In October through April, we aim to have monthly, hour-long tele-conferences on different topics related to art and social change. Each tele-conference call will be hosted by an artist, educator or organizer who has expertise in an area of art and social change. Participants of the Arts Rising Funding Circle will be invited to join the calls, and we aim for about a dozen donors on each call.
As Manager, you will:
- Help recruit 5-7 field experts in arts, donor education or community organizing to lead the calls.
- Provide support to those experts as they plan their sessions (e.g. help them contact other potential presenters, gather articles and other educational materials for call participants)
- Handle outreach and logistics for the calls (e.g. create and send email notices to Circle participants and others; create and manage systems for RSVP’s and reminders; send prep materials to registered participants)
- Attend and take notes on the calls; post summaries of the calls on the Arts Rising website
- Assist the Arts Rising coordinator in other related tasks
Skills and qualities we desire
- Ease in talking with people on the phone: warm, clear, focused communication
- Strong organizational skills: tracking details, making timelines and keeping to them, handling many pieces of a complex project
- Comfort using the computer and learning new programs: you’ll be using Microsoft Word; Excel; Constant Contact (email program), Salesforce (database), Dreamweaver (website) and others
- Clear, concise writing
- Maturity and groundedness: able to take a project and run with it; stay self-motivated; communicate your needs; welcome feedback; roll with the uncertainties of a brand new endeavor; and to be reliable, as we will be COUNTING on you to see your project through to completion
- Excitement about art and social change: experience in the field and/or eagerness to learn more; personal artistic practice is a plus
